Gay Bingo

GAY BINGO has become ‘the’ London underground phenomenon for those in the know (and you don’t have to be gay to play… but it certainly helps!).

‘A riotous event guaranteed to end in cross dressing carnage’ – THE TIMES

It’s a fast, furious and fantastically good fun evening of cabaret and bingo playing. Hosted by cult drag performance artist and raconteur Jonny Woo, Gay Bingo is where cabaret meets bingo and turns the whole idea on its head. Say goodbye to granny and hello tranny!

‘Forget the image of old grannies, GAY BINGO is the ultimate alternative-performance-art-booze-up-radical-drag-electro experience’ – GAY TIMES

Jonny whips up the excitement in the packed-to-capacity crowd with avant garde numbers, sing alongs, dancing, fabulous gutter couture and, of course, lashings of bingo – aided and abetted by Ma Butcher on the number cruncher and DJ John Sizzle on the decks.

‘ “Dirty Girtie” and “Legs 11” take on a completely different sound when they’re being delivered by a seven-foot vision in heels.’ – LONDON EVENING STANDARD

Gay Bingo is held once a month and has been based at a variety of interesting and usual spaces including Shoreditch House, The Institute Of Contemporary Art, Selfridges, The Royal Academy, East London’s T Bar & Truman Brewery as well as Queer Up North, Big Chill and Glastonbury Festivals.

‘A drag queen with attitude is putting the balls back into the numbers game’ – METRO LONDON

It’s a night that’s packed with performance pieces, bingo playing, drinking, chatting or even having a bit of a boogie to the electro sounds of hip Hoxton DJ John Sizzle. The crowd is a veritable who’s who of London’s glitter-arty, plus lovely lads, girlz and everything in between… Add to that the odd celeb, and you’ve got London’s sexiest soiree! Recent fans include Alan Cumming, The Saturdays, Keiffer Sutherland, Graham Norton, Neve Campbell and Pete Burns.

“There’s nothing like an ensemble of messy cross-dressers paying homage to Vegas to really wow a crowd. Add a rousing game of bingo into the mix and you have one of London’s most popular monthly events.” – NEW YORK TIMES

Everyone goes completely bonkers for bingo – booing the winners and pelting them with scrunched up cards – getting into the game more than is truly healthy! Don’t be afraid to dress up – anything goes! Be prepared for some fierce competition and lots of dabbing. Oh, and you’ll really want to see what happens when number 69 gets called…
